JULIA JOHANNA DOROTHEE KRAHN

Julia Johanna Dorothee Krahn was born in Juelich and grew up in Aachen (Germany). To devote herself completely to photography, in 2000 leaves the medicine studies at the “Albert Ludwig Universitaet” Freiburg (Germany) and mooves to Milan (Italy). Here in 2001 she starts her collaboration with the Magrorocca Gallery. In 2003 she inaugurates her first soloshows Schatten and Von Gaensen und Elefanten and starts to participate at different groupshows between Italy, London, Tokyo; in 2007 she exposes at the Museum Ludwigforum, Aachen (Germany) and opens her soloshow The Creation of Memory at Magrorocca Gallery; in 2008 she has been marked as 1st kids- photographer in Italy from Tau Visual association of photography; she has been selected for the participation to the Biennial of Theran (Istambul); she was invited to expose her works as winner to the “Prize de Photography de CCM”, Barcelona and to the “Prize San Fedele”, Milan and at the St.Josef und Fronleichnam’s Church in Aachen, (Germany). In 2009 she won the “Special mention in the Tequila Cuervo Centenario Award for Emerging artist in Zona Maco Art Fair”, Mexico City (Mexico). In 2010 she has been present in 2010 At VOLTA6, ART BASEL; exposed at the Foundation Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice; partecipate at the groupshow Mutter at the Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten in Graz (Austria) and inaugurates her soloshow Ja, Ich Will! At Zirkumflex in Berlin (Germany). With her soloshow Angelus Militans / Nunc Instantis in Milan in Febbruary 2011 she starts her collaboration with Carlotta Testori Studio, Milan (Italy); in the same year she participates to Diffraction at Patricia Conde Galerìa in Mexico City (Mexico) and to Eat Art with IMAF, that will take her work from Milan to NY in April and LA in May.
